Chronic pain and disease is something none of us want to contemplate. You may know of a friend or a family member who is going through life coping with a long term illness. Guided imagery helps clients manage pain.
Anxiety is a common thread running through out every ones lives. A little is good, but sometimes it can be overwhelming. Many physical diseases have anxiety components that medication may not be able to adequately address. Counseling-ministry will help clients manage stress and anxiety.
Mood disorders are common. Depression is the most common mood disorder and is the most often dis-ease treated by mental health professionals. Studies have shown that the most effective treatment for depression is a combination of drug and mental health counseling.
Existential Approach
Counseling-Ministry approaches mental health therapy through techniques developed by Carl Rodgers and Fritz Perls. We also use Narrative Therapy as developed by Michael White and David Epston. The philosopher, Michel Foucault, is a major influence in Counseling-Ministry's approach to helping humans be.
